Information You Provide
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us directly, we receive the contents of that message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems create routine logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review this in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or related tools may assist basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited data to operate the service, correct faults, measure traffic, and improve reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or construct individual visitor profiles.
Outside Links and Search Tools
Links lead to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and independent search tools. The privacy policy of the destination controls information you give there. That includes sponsored results, which an outside company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
Providers that host or support the service process its technical logs. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is not shared.
How We Protect Your Data
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational needs stated above. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or account profiles maintained here.
Users Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent us personal information, and we will remove it.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a website maintains. New Jersey’s project research did not identify a comprehensive consumer-privacy statute that governs this private reference. Since we keep very little, requests are usually limited to the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by New Jersey, Somerset County, or Montgomery Township remain under their own custodians, so correction or removal requests must go to that office.
Updates to This Policy
We will post revisions here. Continuing to use the service after a posted change means accepting the revised policy.
